What we store, and what we do not.

IchiNenGo is operated by Yi Gu (顧逸), an individual sole operator based in Japan. For any privacy question or request, write to support@ichinengo.com. Requests are handled by a person, not a ticketing system.

The kana section is open before you register. Browsing it does not create an account and does not store learning data about you. Like any website, our host records standard request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and reliability.

You can sign in with Google or with a sign-in link sent to your email. With Google, we receive the email address, display name, and profile picture URL that Google shares. With an email link, Supabase receives the email address needed to send and verify that link. We never receive or store your Google or email password.

Once you have an account, the service stores:

• Account profile — email, display name, avatar URL, your chosen target JLPT level, language preference, and time zone.
• Subscription state — your plan, entitlement status, trial and billing period dates, and the customer and subscription identifiers issued by our payment provider.
• Learning progress — which kana, words, and grammar points you have studied and their review state. This is the data that lets you close the tab and continue later.

Lemon Squeezy acts as the Merchant of Record for every purchase. Card numbers and billing addresses are entered on their checkout and handled entirely by them; our servers never see or store them. We receive only the subscription status and the identifiers needed to know whether your access is active.

• Supabase — database and authentication, including email sign-in links. Your profile, subscription state, and learning progress live here.
• Vercel — application hosting and request logs.
• Lemon Squeezy — payments, invoices, and sales tax as Merchant of Record.
• Google — sign-in, only when you choose to sign in.

These providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country of residence. All traffic to the site is served over HTTPS.

Essential session cookies keep you signed in — without them the site cannot tell that a request is yours. Two preference cookies remember your chosen explanation language and your browser time zone, so language and time-of-day presentation stay consistent between pages.

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking. There is no consent banner because there is nothing optional to consent to.

Account, subscription, and progress data are kept while your account exists, so that cancelling and later resubscribing does not wipe your learning history. When you ask us to delete your account, that data is removed. Records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes are retained by Lemon Squeezy under their own policy.

You can ask for a copy of the data associated with your account, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for the account and its data to be deleted. Email support@ichinengo.com from the address you signed up with. We aim to respond within 30 days.

To be straightforward about it: these requests are currently handled manually, not through a self-service button in the app. That is a real limitation of a one-person service, not a refusal.

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has registered, write to us and we will delete the account.

If what we store or who processes it changes, this page changes with it and the effective date above is updated. Material changes affecting existing subscribers are announced by email.
